Small States in Contemporary International Relations

Introduction

Dissolution or transformation of foreignempires and political blocks, some growing multilateralism with drasticincrease of numbers of stakeholder in the international scene and consequentlysome enhancing multiplexity of international affairs directly impact onactivities and capabilities of smaller states. The fundamental question whichhas therefore to be answered is according to the position and possibility ofsmaller states to what extent they are able of creating and carrying outforeign policy strategy independently and individually? This combines also the question if smallerstates are moving to a marginal place in the political discourse due to thefact that big powers are still the most influential factors on internationallevel of globalism and multipolarity.
